UK-Middle East Ministry Trip

6/2/2023

After a season of prayer, Heavenly Father showed us to reconnect with some of our friends who are pastors and leaders in the Middle East.  Over the years, we've conducted our training schools and events at many of their churches in the region.  Due to the instability in the region, in terms of job security and persecution, we've observed and appreciated among believers a strong hunger for the LORD.  We've appreciated their thirst to see His kingdom established.  We remembered with great fondness the richness of faith these believers exhibited.  We remembered how the Holy Spirit used our training events to build up the churches during our previous ministry trips!

As we contacted our old pastor friends in the region, the LORD began to direct us in the planning of a 7 week Ministry Trip.  Scott would fly to the UK to conduct preaching and ministry for 10 days and then I would meet him in the Middle East.  As I was still recovering from a foot injury, this gave me extra time to complete my rehab treatments before boarding the plane!

As Scott began to book all the airfares and hotels for the trip, I experienced some waves of anxiety over the financial cost.  But then I glanced up from my computer and reread this quote from Father God, "It is an insult to doubt that I will provide!  I have always been faithful.  It is an insult to doubt My provision for the ministry I've called you to."  So, I took a deep breath and then rolled the huge financial costs of the trip onto Him, choosing to rest instead of fret.

The ministry in the UK was quite fruitful with Scott preaching at various churches we are connected with in Oxford, Bicester, Worcester and Whitney.  Many churches were built up spiritually as their people encountered the Word and Holy Spirit.  Scott also met with pastors and leaders one-on-one to exhort and pray with them.  People were so appreciative of the ministry and we give Jesus the glory and adoration for doing the things which we cannot do.

The ministry in the Middle East has reflected the power and glory of God.  Scott preached at a couple churches and the power of God moved through the preaching!

Then he conducted an Expository Preaching Seminar for pastors and leaders of an established church.  This seminar was a condensed version of our CIC Preaching School.  They were sharpened in their skills and challenged to strive for excellence in preaching, whilst relying upon the Holy Spirit.  These pastors and leaders are building up their churches and bringing the gospel to their unsaved coworkers, neighbours and friends.

Next, I led Beloved, as women's retreat for pastors and congregants of several churches.  As I preached and ministered from the Song of Solomon, many of the women were deeply touched by the Holy Spirit's revelation of their true value and identity in Christ.  After the preaching and ministry, songs of the LORD were released over the women as they cried in His Presence.  Many were released from bondages of performance, shame, unworthiness, fear and self-deprecation.

Winter 2020 - Holy Spirit Moving in Thailand and Myanmar

8/3/2020

In late 2019, we deliberated in prayer over whether the Lord was leading us to conduct a Mission Trip to Thailand and Myanmar in early 2020.  The logistics for the trip were just not coming together and the airfares were quickly increasing.

Scott announced that 90% of our itinerary needed rearranging in order to improve upon trip logistics.  But I thought, that would involve getting a hold of many pastors and directors in order to rearrange everything.  However, the longer we waited to book our airfares, the higher they were rising.  Inwardly I began to panic, thinking, "But we live completely by faith, Lord, and now all of this - the logistics and financing of higher airfares appear to be huge obstacles."

I prayed earnestly, "Lord if You want us to go on this Mission Trip, then You will need to rearrange most of our speaking engagements lightning-fast and I pray that You will give us stunningly low airfares."  It was a desperate prayer as I knew all of this looked foolish to hope for in the natural realm.

Within 24 hours all of our overseas contacts, some of whom have very limited English, confirmed the new dates which fit into a divinely-crafted itinerary!  Then, as Scott researched the airfares from Toronto to Bangkok, he was just about to book the high airfares when a flashing notice popped up, ALERT: Fares just dropped by $500!  So, we booked Toronto to Bangkok return for 2 people for just $1750, praise Jesus!  An extraordinary price.  This was the Lord's kiss upon our Mission Trip and Scott scooped up that deal immediately.  These were clear confirmations of His leading.

A month later we were departing for our Thailand-Myanmar Mission, being driven to the airport by our good friend, Pastor Ashley.  He kindly offered to buy hot chocolate for us at Tim Hortons, on the our way.  I thought, great idea!  Scott promptly said, "No thanks, as we need to go directly to the airport".

At Pearson Airport, the check-in line was moving a bit slow but finally we made it to the check in desk.  The Attendant asked us to show her our connecting flight confirmation from Bangkok, Thailand to Yangon, Myanmar.  We explained we hadn't yet booked that flight.

She said, "Sorry I can't check you in to your Toronto-Bangkok flight unless you can show me that other flight!"  Inside my heart began to pound, "Oh no, how are we going to book that flight fast enough?  Is Scott's laptop battery charged up enough?  Is the airport internet fast enough at this moment for him to book it?  Would he be able to do it fast enough?"  We stepped away from the check-in counter as Scott opened his lap top in order to book the flight.  I paced back and forth, praying like crazy!!

Thank the LORD, that his computer was charged up and that the airport internet happened to be fast at that moment and that Scott was able to stay calm and book our flights fights from Bangkok, Thailand to Yangon, Myanmar.  I almost cried with relief when he completed the task and showed the confirmation to the attendant at the check-in counter.  And so - this was the beginning of our Burma-Thailand Mission Trip!

In mid-January our meetings in Bangkok and Mahachai were powerful!  The people were hungry and pressed into the Lord with great expectation.  Such a beautiful Presence of the Lord came as we prayed for many, many hungry souls!  Pastor Touja (Senior Pastor) and the Leadership Team have laid their lives down for the sheep at MCA Thailand.  Some of the dear people wept in the Presence of the Lord and we were filled with joy as we saw them receive the love of Heavenly Father and more of the Holy Spirit!  Jesus was exalted and there was much joy!  About 2,000 people came out to the meetings.

In early Feb. we flew to Yangon, Myanmar to begin our 1 month ministry there.  We began at Pastor Solomon's church - Galilee Baptist Church.  It was located in a poor part of the city, which looked more like a village within the city.

As we approached the church, we saw foraging chickens, laughing children and women washing their laundry in the sun.  We spent some time with dear Pastor Solomon and his wonderful leadership team before entering the church building.  When the congregation began to sing in Burmese, we could not restrain ourselves from weeping.  Have you ever heard the poor sing praises to Jesus?  It is indescribably beautiful because it springs from humble, childlike hearts.  God is opposed to the proud but gives grace to the humble.  It was such a delight being with them all and His Presence swept into the place through Scott's biblical preaching and through the spontaneous songs.  Hallelujah!

As there were no air conditioners in the building and it was about +95 F we were quite drenched with sweat but happy He had come to the people!  In the blazing sun, we made our way back along the winding village road, potholes, flies and overhanging jungle plants reaching out to us along the way.

We were then whisked away by car to the next church, For His Glory Church.  Upon arriving, we saw people were packed in and expectant to receive from the Lord!  The Presence of the Lord came powerfully through the preaching of His unfathomable grace and later through divine songs He gave me to sing over the people.  People drank in the Holy Spirit thirstily!  Jesus said that He would give the thirsty divine drink if they came to Him and we saw Him doing this!  So wonderful is the Holy Spirit!

The next day we travelled about 30 miles north of Yangon City to a Bible School, MTC, which was built at the edge of a village, directly overlooking an uninhabited valley.  As the elevation was higher than Yangon City, it was a bit cooler, at about +85 F in the day and +70 F at night.  The director of the Bible School, Pastor Kuai, is a humble leader who is totally committed to train and mobilize pastors and leaders through his Bible School.  This was the second time we had come to teach there and we spent quality time with him, discovering that he was fairly fluent in English.  We  connected heart-to-heart with him.

We conducted our CIC Leadership School that week for 25 Emerging Leaders.  We took them through 10 sessions of teachings, with application times.  Assistant Director, Pade faithfully served as our Interpreter and we used the CIC Workbook, which she had laboriously translated into Burmese.  They were really impacted by the Holy Spirit and Pastor Kuai was greatly rejoicing.  Although it was hard to sleep on the wooden-slatted bed, we rejoicing that He would entrust us to such a ministry.

Following the 1 week Leadership School, we were driven back to Yangon.  On our way home, the leaders stopped at a grocery store to buy us some food and then so generously outfitted us with some Burmese-style clothing.  Thankful for every blessing.

The following day we were blessed to preach and minister at Cornerstone Church and The City Church in Yangon.  It is a large, vibrant church, full of the Holy Spirit.  We really connected with the leaders there.  So many people attend that they need to hold 4 meetings per Sunday!  As Jesus was exalted, most of the people responded to the Word, came forward to receive prayer and Holy Spirit poured in, wave after wave of His glory!

The following week we had a few days of rest and recovery at a decent hotel in Yangon in which we could actually cook our own meals in the communal kitchen.  What a luxury for us to be able to also do a couple loads of laundry instead of having to hand-wash clothes in the sink or bathtub.  Praise Jesus for every provision.

Then in mid-Feb. we took a flight from Yangon to North-Eastern Burma to the city of Kalaymyo.  It was a pleasant flight and the view was predominantly foothills mixed in with lots of jungle.  We flew over remote villages which were dotted with little Buddhist temples.  Upon landing in Kalaymyo we were surprised to see a rather rustic looking single runway with one old-style baggage cart ready to do its job.  This airport only sees 1 flight a day so disembarking was simple and quick.  A health inspector pointed a white device at my head without warning and then I remembered the Corona Virus.

Pastor Jonah and his leaders collected us from the airport and took us for dinner at the local restaurant.  We taught at his Church Planting School for 3.5 days and the 55 leaders were pretty on-fire for Jesus!  Pastor Jonah has high faith, housing about 12 orphans in his own house while running his church and church planting ministry!  They bring orphans from the opium-run northern region to Kalaymyo, where they are housed and educated.  He operates his ministry completely by faith and we had the privilege of leading the commissioning service for all the new church planters and missionaries.

Kalaymeo is predominately Christian and it is a perfect place for many churches to train and send out missionaries all over Myanmar.  We appreciated how peaceful and safe the spiritual atmosphere felt, in direct contrast to Yangon and Bangkok.  We had to deal with dusty streets, pollution from cooking fires and other health and safety hazards so we were very thankful to be given the gift of face masks.

Next, we spent 2 weeks conducting our CIC Leadership School for 85 Church Planters and Missionaries who came from all over Myanmar.  It was held at Zomi Baptist Convention Myanmar (ZBCM).  Our friends, Dr. Gin and Man are the visionaries overseeing ZBCM.
It was really thrilling to see these zealous leaders drink in the Word and encounter the Holy Spirit in life-changing ways.  We were so moved as we read their testimonies at the end of the school.

The Zomi people are so lovely and gracious but also very determined to win Burma for Jesus!  We were so blessed to get to know them and spend time with Dr. Gin, Man and Rev. Suan (Missions Director) and also Kai (Missions Field Supervisor).  David did a fantastic job of interpreting all our 20 sessions which took much preparation and perseverance on his part.

The final week of our trip was spent back in Bangkok, praying, working on ministry administration and taking some much-needed rest.  Praise Jesus for all He did accomplished.

Hundreds Weeping in His Presence, Mexico City

8/4/2017

Our hearts were overawed as we witnessed hundreds of people weeping in the very Presence of the Holy Spirit tonight at a church in Mexico City!  Scott preached on the Loving Father from Luke 15 and we sensed divine attentiveness in the crowd.  Although it was the very first time the interpreter had ever publically interpreted, the Holy Spirit empowered him to preach vigorously in Spanish, as Scott preached in English.

The people were very hungry for the reality of God's Presence.  There was a sense that they were seeking His Face.  When You said, "Seek My Face", my heart said, "Your Face, O LORD, I shall seek." Ps. 27:8  They worshiped deeply and cried out with us for more of the manifest Presence of the Holy Spirit.

Father God graciously identified and removed major burdens from the backs of the people - powerfully delivering them from things like shame and condemnation, as they heard the Word of God preached.

The Word and Spirit came together, divinely softening hearts - hundreds weeping, even small children weeping, overcome with the goodness of Heavenly Father!  I have never seen this before.  A 6 year old boy was weeping and said he wanted to follow Jesus!  Then a 9 year old boy was weeping, overwhelmed by divine love.  When I led him in prayer he was saved right there by the power of God.  Rom. 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of God, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to Jew first and also to the Greek."  He was also delivered from carrying heavy burdens from his family.

If someone were to offer us one million dollars in order to pay for what the LORD had accomplished during that meeting, the Almighty would have been profoundly insulted.  What He wrought in the hearts of the people was absolutely priceless.  We felt so humbled that He would entrust us with the task of ministering divine riches...  The Majestic Glory (2 Peter 1:17)  does whatever He desires and He does not need us in the least to accomplish His will, and yet He chooses to use weak vessels...

Gloria a Dios!

Glorious Holy Spirit, Mexico City

7/4/2017

The Presence of the LORD was very powerful at tonight's meeting in Naucclpan, Lugar, Mexico State!  The people were worshiping Jesus passionately and then crying out for His Presence and then worshiping Him some more.  Right after the worship, Scott urged them to open their hearts more and expect the Holy Spirit to come.  Then I exhorted people to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ "today if you hear His Voice, do not harden your hearts!".  I laid out the cost of following Jesus - that they must confess their sins, turn from their evil ways, repent of having worshiped and prayed to Mary (our lady of Guadalupe) and surrender their  lives to the One True God, Jesus Christ.  Then I led in corporate prayers for those wanting to repent and be saved.

50 people were gloriously swept into the Kingdom of God and 25 others re-dedicated their lives to Him!  Scott then preached on the life of Peter; both he and our interpreter were flowing in the Anointing of the Holy Spirit!  Without the Holy Spirit, we can't do anything.  Nothing of any lasting value happens if the Holy Spirit is not present.  But when the Holy Spirit takes over, then divine things begin to happen and His will is accomplished for His express glory!

In his sermon, Scott traced the life of Peter - Jesus called him to Himself, Peter left his old life of fishing, Jesus saw Peter's true identity and destiny, then how Peter failed miserably  as he denied his best Friend, then Jesus restored him over breakfast and finally how weak Peter was filled with the Holy Ghost and preached fearlessly to a huge crowd, with 3000 people saved!  Father God sees that we are all weak and that we have all failed in various ways, but if we come to Him and submit to Him, then He restores our lives and empowers us to obey Him and thus He receives glory and produces divine fruit in our lives!

Everyone received prayer after the sermon and the Presence of the LORD was so powerful that we were truly in awe of the greatness of God.  People were weeping in His Presence - weeping as they received His forgiveness and deliverance from condemnation, failure and shame.  Many were shaking because of the power of God setting them free from believing lies and filling them fresh with His Presence.  After 4 hours, we could testify that many of their faces shone with the glory of the Living God.

Nov. 2016 UK News

22/1/2017

The Holy Spirit is always on the move, accomplishing the will of The Father across the globe!  When He opens a divine door of opportunity, we want to be ready to step through it!

This past ministry trip to the UK was filled with those divine open doors!  I preached in various churches Nov. 9 - 21 in Manchester, Middleton, Oxford, Gloucester and ended in Biscester.  Everywhere I went I saw hungry people encountering  the glorious Presence of the Holy Spirit.

The highlight of the trip came at the end, at the Church of England in a town just outside of Oxford called, Bicester.  Over the past season, most of the pastors of these churches in this town have been gathering for prayer.  Most churches from the town came together over the weekend of Nov. 18-20.  There was a tremendous sense of Psalm 133 unity among  the leaders and churches!  Many received fresh vision and anointing for evangelism of their town.  Over 100 people then went out into the streets to testify of the goodness of the Lord and to share the way of salvation!  Some new families came into the main church and received prayer and counsel while their children enjoyed the bouncy castle and other activities.

We are so grateful to our Prayer Team who upheld us and the events in prayer over those 3 weeks of ministry - they share in all the kingdom fruit.  Praise the LORD for those Partners who have sown generously and faithfully into our ministry.

I praise and thank Jesus for the growing unity and what I believe is a beginning of a divine downpour over Bicester!

Faith without works is dead... Dec. 2015 Newsletter

30/12/2015

Dec. 2015 Toronto

We were so blessed when suddenly the Holy Spirit opened the door for us to assist some Syrian refugee families.  This is what happened:  Our church, Catch the Fire (Toronto) agreed to become a depot for donations for refugees. So they needed help to sort and organize thousands of donations...

At first we thought, "OK we will help but we certainly don't want to head it up!"  However the Holy Spirit had other plans and quickly recruited us.  He gave me as willing heart the moment I heard Him say, "Faith without works is dead."  Jam. 2:17.  Amazing how He can change our hearts in a moment by His truth!

This operation was the brainchild of One Free World International, empowered by the Holy Spirit!  Many volunteers from our church came out to sort all the thousands of basic necessities - warm coats, clothes, hats, mittens, scarves, boots, food, furniture, kitchen ware etc.  The operation took us 4 days to prepare and the Lord even provided some Arabic interpreters to be on-hand when the dear refugees arrived.  There was a tremendous sense of unity as several ministries joined together for the cause!  And about 100 refugees were blessed over several days.

We met 2 brothers and they were telling us how their other brother had lost his legs due to a bomb explosion but they were so grateful that the Lord had spared his life.  A woman shared how they had to flee their country and live in another country (which was not very safe either) before finally being permitted to come to Canada.  They were so blessed to receive all the generous donations and we were thrilled to be a part of what the Father was doing!

It was the best Christmas of our lives because we re-discovered that "it is more blessed to give than to receive".  (Acts 20:35)

Unstoppable God! - Oct. 23 - 25, 2015

12/11/2015

Six young people were gloriously saved during the youth retreat in Port Sydney, Ontario!  Very exciting for us to experience "...the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes... " (Rom. 1:16).  Many more had life-changing encounters with the Lord!  About 40 students from Great Lakes Christian High School (Beamsville, ON, Canada) attended.  We were very blessed to have an anointed worship team and ministry team.  Scott preached several times and these teens - many young Christians or unsaved - were hungry and attentive!  All were open to receive prayer ministry at the end of each message.

Joshua and Emily Hunter did a fantastic job of leading the worship and pastoring all the youth. They are the School Pastors at Great Lakes Christian High School (Beamsville, Ontario, Canada) and are passionate for Jesus and His kingdom!

There were so many "firsts" - some gave their public testimonies for the first time.  Two girls wrote and sang a worship song for the first time.  At least two of the students practically began to preach during the sharing of their testimonies!  Some were learning to linger in His Presence.  Others were stepping out and boldly praying from their hearts in front of their peers!  We were all feeling a sense of wonder - seeing Him at work!

Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, "We have seen remarkable things today."  (Luke 5:26)

Emerging Ministries School - Oct. 3 & 4, 2015

6/10/2015

Hi Everyone,

The supreme purpose of our lives is to glorify the Lord and enjoy Him forever.  He has a particular plan for each one's life, as revealed in Eph. 2:10 "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."  We do not 'create' our calling, but we pray and follow the Lord's leading, stepping into the "good works" which He has already prepared for us to step into.

We launched Emerging Ministries School this past weekend at Catch the Fire Toronto with our team.  The Lord came in His truth, love and power!  People were excited and more empowered to walk forward in their callings.

Emerging Ministries is a new ministry at Catch the Fire - Toronto church and our mandate is to mobilize people in their gifts and callings so they may advance the Kingdom of God.  Our plan is to conduct evening training sessions for the participants on a monthly basis and then run the school again in the Spring, Lord willing.  "Father, come and mobilize Your people for Your glory!"

Thanks for your prayers and support.

UK Mission Trip - June 2015

11/8/2015

June 2015 - UK Report

It was really spectacular to see the Holy Spirit sweep across our meetings in England, pouring into hungry hearts!  "For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good." Ps. 107:9   We have conducted many ministry trips to the UK over the years, but noticed a greater response among those who came to our meetings this time.  Praise Jesus for increased spiritual hunger!

We taught and ministered at various churches in - Oxford, Bicester, Gloucester, Manchester, Rochdale, Middleton and York.  He gave us endurance to keep up with His pace!  Jesus was exalted, His Word was preached, and the broken and thirsty encountered Him.

In many of our meetings, people who had been under years of confusion and condemnation received powerful deliverance and freedom through the preaching of the Word.  A middle eastern man confessed his sin in broken English and received forgiveness and comfort from Father God. We also witnessed several divine physical healings, praise the LORD!

Testimony of a couple:

I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful weekend. I am still feeling so powerfully touched by your words and the grace that you carry. I felt powerfully moved and released at your conference this past weekend. I hadn't realized I had so much fear and I realized there were many lies that were really holding me back from my happiness, freedom and connection with God.

This new freedom and peace are continuing and now I feel a much closer intimacy with The Lord. I feel very restored and empowered!  God bless you both as you continue to travel and minister God's incredible love to people and lead them into a deeper relationship with Christ.

Summer Vision:

Our mandate for the Summer has been  SOAPP - "Summer of Anointed Prayer & Preparation".  We have spent more time in prayer with Him, taken extra time for our marriage and have worked on ministry development.  We have been working on our new website, professionally recording our sermons and expecting His financial provision for ministry expansion.  We are also praying about possible invitations to Latin America.

Thank you for partnering with us in so many ways such as, prayer, finances, practical help and exhortation!  We know we couldn't do this ministry without such partnership.

Rejoicing in His goodness,

Scott & Hilary Dalton
